Four services for 2021 - coaching, speaking, teams and education

I have spent much of the last year thinking about my future plans and am really excited to announce that I am pressing the button on four main services - coaching, speaking, teams and education. All of them give me the opportunity to continue to make a positive difference to individuals and organisations.

Coaching has been an interest for a long period of time. When I looked back at my previous career it was a coach who helped me to move up the ladder, another clarified my thoughts when I got to the top, and then a third supported me through a complete change. Now I do all of this for others across the private, public and voluntary sectors. Bespoke and authentic are the key words for the coaching I offer, testimonials are available on the site. I am in the process of writing up the final pieces of my ILM Level 7 qualification in Coaching and Mentoring which has really helped me to broaden out my practice, and deepen my understanding of the process.

Speaking is an aspect of my former job which I always looked forward to and where I wanted the opportunity to do more. Over the course of the next few months I am working on my ‘speaking menu’, the talks, seminars and workshops which will be ready to go for any audience. The topics will be based on leadership, management and professional development themes. I will still deliver for clients who want something else, but this is likely to be the majority of the speaking I do. Like anyone I would rather be in a three dimensional room than working through a screen, but the latter also means a speaker can reach any audience anywhere in the world at any time of day.

Teams is new for 2021! Most of the time professional development focuses on individuals and not on how they work together. Working in a team is not the same as working as a team and yet they are often treated as if they were the same. Team coaching is a  partnership between a team coach, a team and its leader in order to ensure it adds up to far more than the sum of its parts. The client is the team as an entity in itself, rather than a collection of one to one coaching relationships. I am really excited about the training I have been, and continue to be, engaged with and the impact this can have for organisations large and small. It is more than facilitation, more than consultancy and more than any one-off  intervention. Check out the page and the video for more details.

Education remains a core passion, including in communities which need it the most. As of now I am working with primary, secondary, further education and alternative provision in all kinds of ways whether it is working with heads and senior teams, delivering professional development or bespoke projects. The site has a range of testimonials, including those I have worked with since setting up my business a couple of years ago.

For those of you considering making your own changes I would recommend a couple of books which have had a significant influence on me in recent years. The first is Jenny Blake’s Pivot which guided me through the principles of the first change a couple of years ago (and now the second). The other is ‘Building a Portfolio Career’ by Bourne et al which taught me it was possible to have several lines of work running simultaneously.

I am looking forward to meeting new people, travelling to more places and engaging in a broader range of activities than ever before in 2021. If you are interested in working with me please make contact!
